Handwoven ERI Silk Stole / Assamese Print Fashion Scarf / Elegant Natural Silk Stole
Eri silk comes from the worm Samia cynthia ricini, found in North East of India and some parts of China and Japan. The name Eri is derived from the Assamese word ‘era’, which means castor as the silkworm feeds on castor plants. One of the common names, the 'Ailanthus silk moth', refers to the host plant. The wooly white silk is often referred to as the Ahimsa silk or the fabric of peace as the process does not involve the killing of the silk worm. Moths leave the cocoon as soon as it is ready to be spun.
This stole is made of 100% Eri silk wit light bluse silk thread woven in a delicate patteern. Size : 60cmX200cm
Note: This fabric has been made using handlooms. The irregularities in the wrap or weft, the knots & iridescence derived form the special kind of manufacture and are a natural feature of the fabric. Any unevenness is therefore to be considered as a special characteristic of the fabric and not as an imperfection or cause for complaint.
